Hosanna!



            “The Faithbook Experiment continues. This morning I awoke unusually early for a Saturday. As tomorrow is Palm Sunday, so many thoughts were on my heart as I opened my Bible.  I read the various accounts in the gospels telling of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem to shouts of Hosanna. What a joyous moment it must have been for HIS followers! They weren’t expecting what was about to happen. Their eyes hadn’t been opened. They didn’t yet know that God’s plan was playing out before their very eyes.

            Jesus’ arrest, torture, trial, and crucifixion didn’t make sense to them. It wasn’t what they were expecting. After Jesus was placed in the tomb the disciples thought it was all over. The glory that was about to happen took them by surprise.

            That’s how it often is with me, even though I have an advantage the disciples didn’t have. The story is written in full and I know the ending. Yet, sometimes I lose hope, get discouraged, and think all is lost.

This morning, as The Faithbook Experiment continues, my heart’s cry is

Lord, help me to remember that you are Hosanna, King of Glory. The ending has been written and it is glorious!

As I sit before an empty screen and type, my heart is anything but empty. My heart is full; full of sadness, despair, guilt, confusion, pain, and questions. Sidewalk Chalk, Christmas Lights & Fruit

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” Jeremiah 17:7-8 NIV What an amazing passage to being my day! I am reminded to trust in the Lord and promised that because I am planted in HIM, I don’t have to fear circumstances. This passage also makes it my heart’s desire to continue to bear fruit to HIS glory in this season. My heart is truly overflowing as I read these words in Jeremiah.  I felt I had to do something today so my daughter, Carly and I headed outside. Together we covered our driveway with encouraging words and happy images for our neighbors. As we were chalking, we waved at everyone driving past and they returned our waves.
